Anyways, Cookie and Linn wanted to demonstrate how they stay warm!
Unfortunately Binky is no longer among us 😢 he loved keeping warm and snuggling as well. He had troubles with his teeth, then got mites and an ear filled with blood? Like an ear hematoma we've seen in dogs at dr pol's show, but never heard of it in guinea pigs. He also had a lot of pus in his inner ear...
Slaves tried to keep him going with critical care as he had troubles eating, but he didn't make it 😟
Wheeks,
Guinygirlz Cookie and Linn
P.s. does anyone know why Linn's eyes are turning white?
So sorry to hear about Binky's troubles --- sometimes it is no longer kind to keep a piggy going when the enjoyment of life is gone, but it's so sad to have that empty space in the piggy house. Our condolences to you, Erwin, Cookie and Linn.

DeleteMay Blinky rest in peace. His love will be with you forever. Regarding Linn's eyes turning white I do not know what you are referring to. I can not see the whiteness but then I do not have the best of eyesight. Does she appear to be getting cataracts? Many piggys develop cataracts as they age. I have had many that had cataracts in both eyes and lived totally normal lives.
ReplyDeleteWe knew that you had lost dear Binky but did not know about his troubles. Slave says that she had a doggy years ago who had a haematoma in his ear flap a couple of times. The vet drained it, stitched it up and all was fine. We wonder if Binky had ear mites and, in scratching his ear flap, he might have caused the haematoma. We have never had one of our herd have this but anything is possible.
ReplyDeleteAs for Linn's eyes turning white, Slave suggests that she has cataracts. Not unusual in piggies of any age. We depend far more on our ears and noses for finding our way around and sight loss will not bother her at all. Slave says that she has often come down in the middle of the night to find some of us runnng around in pitch darkness.
It is hard to tell from the photo but your vet will be able to confirm this. Another possibility is that she might have poked her eye on a hay stalk. If this happens, the eye turns milky white whilst it repairs itself and then goes back to normal. If both her eyes are turning white, then it would seem to be cataracts rather than a hay poke.
Love to Cookie and Linn and you and Erwin too.
Cookie and Linn are looking very pretty as well as fashionable as they keep warm! Nugget and Scottie like the hammock and pod very much and say those look like excellent places to rest when there's snow outside.
ReplyDeleteWe are all so very sorry to hear of Binky's passing. He was such a handsome boy, and what an expressive face. We are sure he is now teaching piggies at the Rainbow Bridge to spin for celestial food. Please accept our condolences.
So sorry for Binkys' passing... he is in a better place now.
ReplyDeleteSending love to you
