Just now we heard a crashing noise, the chestnut tree in front of our house was blown over by the current stormy weather..
Mom and dad really liked this tree as it blocked the view to the newly built
Apartment building behind...
Luckily nothing was hit, but we will miss this tree. Especially as it survived the whole building process..

What a shame! That tree was much prettier that the apartment block.
ReplyDeleteWe love trees as they shade our outdoor pens when it is hot. Slave says that it will take a very long time for another tree to grow that big.
Yes, we demand a proper replacement! but we're afraid this will take a very looooong time...
ReplyDeleteThey left most of the trees when the old neighbourhood was demolished to make room for the new houses and apartment block.
Which is nice, cause next to the newly planted small thin trees, there are some of these robust trees still in the neigbourhood.
Mommy slave is sad the trees was broken down...
ow yes small update on the 'nothing-was-hit'-statement... There is a white railing (you can see it in the back), that was pretty much crushed by the tree. There were also some plants in pot in the corner of the platform which the tree top has crashed on top of...
We hope the bad weather will end soon, and the other tree stays rooted and in one piece!
by the way someone tell our slave how to get the first pigture in the right orientation...
What a shame about the tree, shade is nice when its sunny, hope nothing else blows over.
ReplyDeleteYour slave obviously needs more training and so does ours as she doesnt know either lol
If you rotate the first pigture through 45 degrees in your folder and resave it then you can post it to the blog.
ReplyDeleteHope the storms are over.
Slave turned the pigture upright...
ReplyDeleteShe know how to do it from a computer, but she made this blog post on her phone (android Samsung galaxy S), and had no idea how to turn the picture...
The pigtures (i made) are also on a dutch news website in a report about storm and water damage

Fame at last! Well done Slave!
ReplyDeletePosting a pigture from a phone is quite another matter. Glad you worked it out.
