Slave's Birthday Presents

Some of our readers might remember Slave's son making her some tiny guinea pig models...a king, a jester and a wizard. Now they have some new friends.

It was her birthday last week and in a little gift box was a little minstrel band......

 A tiny drummer.

And his friend, playing a flute.

 This little fellow is playing a lyre.

 And his friend is playing his lute.

 Here is the whole band. They are an inch high.

 Lastly, they are entertaining the king and his entourage.

Slave was delighted with them all and wanted to share them with our guinea pig friends.  

 

Serafina, Tiny Halloween Dragon Lady

Look who got to wear the dragon costume for Halloween this year!  I am not really quite large enough yet to fill it out, but don't I look frightening?  (Or maybe a little bit frightening, if you tilt your head just right???)

Yes, Readers, it's me, Serafina!  Pig Mum was considering who would get to be the Prairie Pig Spokesmodel for Halloween this year, and then realized how close Halloween was going to be to my first birthday.  I don't remember my birthday very well so I could not say exactly which day it was, but Pig Mum came to adopt me from the local shelter at the end of November last year, and the shelter folks thought I was about a month old.  I was a teeny tiny little piggy girl at the time, only about 100 grams!

So Pig Mum decided that I, as birthday girl, should get to star in our Halloween photo shoot this year, and I even got to choose which costume to wear (of course, it was the dragon one!).  I think people tend to not take guinea pigs seriously enough because we are small and fuzzy and cute, but everyone has to take a dragon seriously (unless they want to risk being toasted by fiery dragon breath)!  

 The Prairie Pigs want to wish everyone out there a Happy Halloween -- may you all get to wear your favourite costume, too, and come home with lots of tasty treats!
