Piggy A-Z: C is for Cranberry

Regular readers may have noticed that whenever our water bottle appears in a pigture our water is red in colour, this is because Mummy adds cranberry to the water for us.

Mummy uses Ocean Spray Light cranberry juice as this has less sugar. So why does Mummy add cranberry to our water? Well first of it is a good source of vitamin C and secondly it can help prevent urinary infections which piggies can be prone to. Sadly it does nothing for stones. Mummy fills about a 1/4 of the bottle with Cranberry juice and the rest with water.

So do we like our water? Mummy noticed we actually drink more cranberry flavoured water than normal plain water.

Here is what our water looks like

Here is what we were doing while Mummy took the pigture

Piggy A to Z: C is for Celery

Celery is a vegetable that the humans can eat raw in salads or cooked in meals, however we have heard it is bad for humans and should really only be given to piggies (we are hoping this rumour will spread and we will get more celery)

Celery is high in vitamin C and can be given to us 3-4 times a week

This is what it looks like whole, we really like the leafy bit in the middle.

Mummy chops it into small pieces before feeding it to us.

Here I am looking particularly adorable as I collect my piece.

Barbie ran away and hid to eat his piece.

Out take pigtures wol.

Do you like celery?

Piggy A to Z: C is for Chinese Leaf

Chinese leaf is a type of oriental cabbage that can be enjoyed by guinea pigs. As it is a kind of cabbage we would not recommend it for piggies who suffer with gas but for us healthy pigs it is fine.

This is what it looks like whole.

And here we are enjoying it.

Despite the fact Mummy gave us a leaf each Barbie still wanted MY leaf.

A Piggy A -Z. C is for Chicory

Do your piggies like chicory? Most of the Piggyfriends do but, for some reason, Roisin and Niamh refuse to eat it leaving more for the others.

Here is Agent Wizard aka Gandalf enjoying a leaf or two.

" I don't think that I can eat a whole chicon," says Gandalf. " I'll share it with the other Piggyfriends."

" Thank you, Gandalf. " says Cosmo Dangermouse. " I am rather partial to a bit of chicory. "

Piggy A to Z: C is for C&C Cages

For those of you who may not have heard of C&C cages these are cages made of square grids joined together into any size and shape you want.

We love our C&C cage and mummy loves the way it makes things like cleaning and playtime easier.

Here is our cage in its normal set up, as you can see the humans have added a solid frosted panel across our doorway this is to stop us from throwing hay on their new carpet.

For cleaning out and playtime the whole end panel swings open allowing easy access for the humans (Mummy pulls the correx base out when cleaning) and easy exiting for us.

To make our play area the humans have 8 grids joined together and hinged with cable ties at 2 grid intervals.

This folds flat for easy storage when not in use.

And connects to our existing C&C cage with bulldog clips to make our large play area.

So what do you think of our set up?

We would love to see pigtures of your cages so please share them with us.

Friday video & Piggy A-Z: C for card game

Hi,

My name is Peaches, also known as Agent Boo.

I want to tell you something about what my slave, with a lot of help from our readers here, has made.
Our readers have send in pigtures of all kinds of lovely and handsome piggies, which slave bundled in one card game.

You(r slave) can order this card game! If they want to order it right now, have a look here.

The dutch game 'Kwartet', also know as 'Quartets', was used as a basis. The goal of the game is to collect as many kwartetten / quartets as you can. Every player starts of with 7 cards in their hards. On the table the rest of the cards are kept on a stack with the pictures facing down, so no one can see what the next card on the stack is.
The game has 11 different categories, most categories are piggy breeds, like smooth-haired piggies, US teddies and Rexes and so on. Other categories include some members of one herds, like the Piggyfriends, Indiana piggies or my herd, the Guinygirlz. There are also other themes like piggies with Flower names and white piggies.

Mom still has 7 games in stock, and hopes to sell those too. So please buy one (or more)! Once those are sold we can make another donation to a guinea pig shelter somewhere in the world. Everyone can suggest shelters and then vote for their favorite shelter. So next to getting a cool game you also get to support a shelter!
Read a bit about the price and order here, send us an email for shipping, but Mikey will contact you with the pric for the game plus shipping before sending the game to you. If you have doubt after ordering and hearing the total price just let her know. Great thing about the card games is though, that they are quite small and fit in an envelope quite easily making them less expensive to send by mail.

Slave was looking for a nice video about playing the 'Kwartet' game, but apparently this is a really dutch game, it is similar to Go Fish! But mum thinks it is slightly different from what she understood from the videos explaining how to play Go Fish!!
But she did find this rather nice very stereo typical dutch/english video for the dutch airline KLM. This game has dutch historical houses, but the idea is the same with our guinea pig game...

Hope we get to sell the last 7 games, and possibly even more...
Agent Boo aka Peaches

P.s. all buyers of the game so far, maybe you can comment below what you think of your game? Hope you are all enjoying it.
