3 More wall calendars in stock & nominate your favorite Guinea pig shelter!

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you all know that 17 calendars have been sold, and we have made a nice profit on this to be donated to a guinea pig shelter! (I will have to do the maths, so can't give you an exact number at the moment... sorry)

So you can all send in your suggestions for your favorite Guinea pig shelter, one that is near you, or one that you feel is special, or one that could use a little help from us all. Please motivate why you think they should get our donation.
We will then make a poll for this and let people vote on where to send our donation.

I also want to let you know if you haven't bought a calendar yet, you can still do so by filling out the form. You can get to the form by clicking on the link in the text in the right column below the picture of the calendar.
I currently have 3 wall calendars in stock which can be send to you immediately for the price of the desk calendar (i.e. 12,50 euro, about 16.15 dollars) plus the cost for shipping it to your country from the Netherlands. Desk calendars can be ordered as well, but will have to be printed first, so they might take somewhat longer.
See the preview of the calendars here.

So let us know if you want to order (another) calendar
& please suggest a shelter that could use our donation in the comments!

  1. We'd like to nominate Palace Piggies in Reading, England as a very worthy cause. Sally, Susie and Bosworth Boar recently came here from the lovely ladies who run this excellent rescue. Lynn and Liz not only look after lots of piggies but they bring their patients to our wonderful Rodentologists for the best health care anywhere.

Have a read of their website to find out more about them (and to see Sally and Susie on the rehomed piggies page). Bosworth Boar was not there for long enough to have his pigture on the website.

I would like to nominate the shelter I foster for: The Humane League of Lancaster County. Link:

As a foster I see everyday the limited budget & old supplies that they are forced to use. Too many animals & not enough donations. Everything is old & worn out. Everyone works hard to help the animals & the animals deserve better too! Thanks!

I nominate The Critter Connection in Durham, CT, USA. We adopted our five piggies there seven years ago (two elderly girls remain), and think very highly of the people who have faithfully done their best for needy guinea pigs in CT. Joanne also adopted some or all of her piggies from The Critter Connection. Here is the web address:

The effects of our shaky economy have hurt this rescue, and the owner and small staff have had to cut way back in the amount of animals they are able to serve. At this time, I believe many surrendered animals stay in their homes until they are adopted, while the rescue provides advertising. The rescue cares for a number of sanctuary/special needs pigs, who will live at the rescue for the remainder of their lives.

  7. I want to nominate t Kuufke in the Netherlands. My sister got her boar Agent I (Igor) and the current boar Sjeuf from this shelter. They are a department of the Stichting Cavia (Cavy foundation), who offer shelter to many cavies in the Netherlands. They even have a guinea pig village near my parents in law.
