Friday Video: 8 things your new guinea pig is trying to tell you

What do you think about these tips? Do you have more and/or even better tips for new guinea pig owners? We like how this was filmed, the pigs are very cute, and even though we never wait 2 weeks until introducing us to each other. It can never hurt to err on the side of safety.

Have a nice Wheekend!

  1. Slave never covers our pens ( they are too large for a cover anyway ) but she gives us tunnels, pipes and cardboard boxes in which to hide or play.

When new piggies arrive here, they are quarantined for a couple of weeks unless they come from our Rodentologists, who will have quarantined them anyway. It would be a disaster if an illness was introduced to our large herd. New piggies all get a bath with Vet Sect Repel in case they have brought in any unwanted guests and all piggies over three months old are wormed.

We have our pens cleaned out every day. We would not be happy with a once a week clean.

Slave is annoyed that the people who produced this video spelled exercise incorrectly. Note to the extra c.

We think that the video might make people think that oranges are the only source of Vit C. Lots of different veggies and fruits should be shown.

We all loved the piggies especially the tiny babes.

  2. we also never cover the cage, like Penny says, we use houses and stuff to hide under.
Btw, we love the little puppet bed from Ikea! It is a great place to hide under, you can leave it from all side, you can sit on to and slave likes the look of it (check ikea.com, search for duktig)
