New Years Resolutions

Tell your slaves not to worry about their weight (big butts are the best anyway) and replace their New Years resolutions with these resolutions for my health:

1. Weigh me frequently and keep track of my weight. We are very good at hiding our illnesses and a drop in weight usually is the first sign something is wrong

2. Check my fur every now and then. Are there bald patches? Creepy crawlies? Wet chin?

3. Trim my nails! I know I don't like it, but if you wait too long I'll get corkscrew nails, which can be very painfull.

So, this is our top 3. Which resolutions would you like to add?

  2. Maybe create a piggy first aid kit?
And if so what should be in there?
We still don't have one, and slave did want to do a post about this, but didn't have the time yet...

Silly slaves, don't they know what's important?

  3. We agree with both comments and would add that piggies should have antifungal, antiparasitic shampoos every so often, especially those in cold, damp climates like ours.

Our Slave has a vast piggy first aid kit and would be delighted to share details about what it contains.

  4. Okay great, maybe we/you could interview your slave? (or the piggyfriends, they are probably very knowledgable about the contents of this kit...

Slave is trying to get vet sect repel. Can you buy that in shops in the UK? if so where?

  5. Great piggy new year resolutions! We would be very interested in reading about a piggy first aid kit and the Ivermectin/worming protocol.

We have had Ivermectin once before and our slave has asked vets about preventative worming protocol, but here in the US the general consensus seems to be that it is unnecessary unless the pig is showing symptoms... we would like to know more about it as our slaves want us to be healthy happy pigs.

Vet Sect Repel is not available in shops here but can be bought online from www.vetuk.co.uk Our Rodentologist buys it in bulk to sell to clients too.

We are all on a regular program of Ivermectin and Panacur, which we receive every three months as a preventative. All adult piggies get 0.4ml Panacur and two drops of Ivermectin from a dropper bottle supplied by our Rodentologist. Little pigs over three months get a half dose.

You can read more about it at www.piggyville.com written by Ann of the GPDD. Click on "worming" Her protocol is slightly different from ours but it gives you an idea.

Piggy first aid kit info will take up too much room in Comments but we will be delighted to take part in an interview.

  7. In the Netherlands we also don't deworm every 3 months. Our vet said that especially since we live indoors, it is not neccesary. I also think it wouldn't hurt to deworm more frequently, but I guess my staff is just too lazy ;-)

I'd really like to see what is in the Piggyfriends' first aid kit. I'd also like to volunteer as the interviewer. If someone else already got the job, that's fine by me ;-)
