Agent in training Boomer

Hello agents, agents in training and human slaves. Boomer and Starbuck have been with us for just over three weeks. They are both lively, bright eyed and adorable but Boomer has not put on any weight while Starbuck is chunking up nicely. They are now about 14 weeks, Boomer is the alpha so she gets plenty of hay, Burgess Excel pellets and a range of veggies. Does anyone have any suggestions, should she putting weight on or am I panicking?

  1. As long as he isn't loosing weight and is otherwise lively I shouldn't worry too much. How heavy is Boomer now?

  3. When my triplets were 2 1/2 months old (not very long ago) there was a 65 g. gap between the smallest (at 606 g.) and the largest (670 g.) The middle pig was only a little heavier than the smallest. Like Igor, I think your girls sound like they're both doing fine and are getting what they need nutritionally to thrive.

  4. We to would not worry some babies grow at different rates.

Mummys first piggy Bubbles only ever weighed 850g tiny compared to us big boys.

Iron Hamster can stay same weight for a couple of weeks then gain 40g and then lose 20g as long as she is happy and eating we wouldnt worry.

  5. Thanks everyone, after what happened with my beloved Dido I think I am a little bit paranoid.

Boomer was looking very smug this morning, she had put on 10 grams almost overnight! Her new nickname is Boomzilla.
